Rebecca Schoen, PharmD, BCACP is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the Ambulatory Care division at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Purdue University and her Post Graduate Year 1 and 2 residencies focused in Ambulatory Care at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Schoen is certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in Ambulatory Care. She is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the North Texas Veterans Affairs Hospital in Dallas, Texas where she manages chronic disease states. Under a scope of practice, she prescribes medications, monitors response to therapy, and educates patients on their regimens.
At Texas Tech University HSC, Dr. Schoen serves as the Director of Practice Labs and Simulation for the Dallas campus. She teaches in all four years of the PharmD program and is involved in laboratory, experiential, and didactic courses. She is a member of the Advanced Patient Management in Ambulatory Care course team that was selected in 2018 for the Texas Tech University HSC President’s Excellence Award in Team Teaching. Dr. Schoen is also passionate about residency training and serves as a preceptor for the Post Graduate Year 2 Ambulatory Care residents.
Dr. Schoen has authored peer reviewed journal publications and given professional presentations on topics including chronic disease management and innovative teaching strategies. She is an active member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, serving on multiple committees in the organization.
