Dr Asha Pratinidhi is Professor Emeritus of Community Medicine at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences , Karad .

She started her career at BJ medical college, Pune.  She has been an under graduate and post graduate teacher in medical colleges for 40 years and PhD guide for more than 20 years. She has been an examiner for M.B.B.S., DPH, M.D. and PhD examinations at various Universities all over India.

She was a Dean at the Government medical college in Kolhapur and Miraj. She has worked as Director of Research and Principal at Krishna Medical Sciences, Karad. She has received Master’s degree (M.D) in Preventive and Social Medicine, a diploma in Public Health from Pune University and a diploma in Child Health from Kolkata University. She has successfully completed a certificate course in Nutrition from the National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, India and fellowship at Mahidol University, Thailand.

She has been a principal investigator of 20 international and national research projects for WHO, UNICEF , Indian Council of Medical Research , National Rural Health Mission , Indian Government, Maharashtra State Government and Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University. She has edited a book ‘Primary Perinatal and Neonatal Health Care’ and published over 120 research papers in peer reviewed indexed journals. She has received ‘Mahajan Award’ for Best Published Paper in the’Indian Journal of Community Medicine ‘ and Best Paper Awards for two oral presentations of Research Society of B. J. Medical College , Pune. She has worked as an ‘Editor in Chief ‘ of the ‘Journal of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences .

She is a founder of ‘Krishnarao Innovation Foundation ‘ (KIF) Trust which supports innovative research projects for the undergraduate post graduate students from the faculty of Medicine , Dentistry ,Nursing and Physiotherapy .
